Patterson is looking to solve data and software development problems by hiring a Data Engineer to define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain data and data applications.
Requirements
- Knowledge of all aspects of data development and product life cycles
- Excellent understanding of data engineering and industry best practices
- Knowledge of programming for different delivery approaches such as on-premises, web, cloud, and mobile
- Postgres (v12 or later) - 1 year
- Familiarity with SAP SQL Anywhere
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Azure DevOps (including Git)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders in the conceptualization and development of database and/or application functionality.
- Assist in the research, definition, development, and documentation of deliverables, and specifications in collaboration with team members.
- Monitor, investigate and implement improvements to database design and performance.
- Integrate efficiency and performance during all development activity.
- Test new and existing applications for the purposes of correcting errors and general debugging.
- Participate in defining application and database development plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.
- Deploy database changes through environments to production upon completion of development, testing, and documentation.
Other
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of data, data application or data science experience required
- Ability to be work remote and be on camera as needed
- Travel to corporate sites is periodically required (Quarterly or so)
- Periodic on call rotations and available outside of normal business hours on evenings and weekends during critical production release or issue escalation periods
