The Walt Disney Company is looking to enhance unforgettable experiences by leveraging advanced analytics and technology integration, and the Data Engineering team is responsible for providing data pipeline and database engineering services to support this goal.
Requirements
- Experience with ELT/ETL data pipeline development and maintenance
- Proficiency in SQL coding
- Experience and expertise using Python, Snowflake and/or Postgres
- Experience leveraging job scheduling software like Apache Airflow
- Experience developing in a multi deployment environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) leveraging DevOps procedures for code deployment/promotion
- Experience managing and deploying code using a source control product such as GitLab/GitHub
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Snowflake, SQL, Python, Docker, and GitLab
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, enhance and support data engineering solutions
- Gather data requirements
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines
- Monitor data quality
- Produce datasets for science models and visualizations
- Schedule batch/orchestration jobs
- Communicate data engineering progress to the project leadership team
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Advanced Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of overall technical experience
- Develop an understanding of the business domain and processes
- Participate in meetings and discussions
- Master’s degree preferred in Advanced Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
