Raft is looking to build data platforms that make it easy for different types of user personas to access data from a central control plane, supporting their customers and building digital solutions that impact the lives of millions of Americans.
Requirements
- 2+ years of backend development experience with at least one language like Java, Go, or Python
- Basic understanding of or exposure to data streaming concepts (Kafka experience preferred but not required)
- Internship or coursework experience with data processing or ETL concepts
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Past use of SQL skills and understanding of database concepts
- Experience with version control (Git) and basic DevOps practices
- Previous internship or project work involving data analysis or engineering
Responsibilities
- Building data platforms that make it easy for different types of user personas to access data from a central control plane
- Building backend services, connecting OSS projects in a repeatable and performant way, and extending feature sets
- Utilizing new tools like DuckDB, Apache Pinot, Apache Superset, and others
- Building, configuring, and deploying the next generation of data platform for mission-critical needs
- Working closely with Technical SMEs on the government stakeholders
- Breaking down complex problems into smaller tasks
- Staying current with data engineering trends and technologies
Other
- Active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS SCI
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
- U.S. citizenship to be eligible for employment
