Point72's Technology team is looking to improve the company's IT infrastructure by experimenting with open-source solutions and embracing enterprise agile methodology to stay at the forefront of a rapidly evolving technology landscape.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, including end‑to‑end ownership of ETL/ELT pipeline design, development, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Practical experience implementing data validation, cleansing, transformation, and reconciliation processes to ensure high‑quality, trustworthy datasets.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with common data engineering libraries/frameworks such as Pandas, SQLAlchemy, PySpark, and/or Airflow.
  • Deep experience with relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, data warehouse platforms, and schema/model design.
  • Experience with data governance practices, metadata management, and lineage tracking.
  • Familiarity with graph query languages, such as SPARQL, Cypher, or Gremlin, and understanding of graph theory concepts to model complex relationships when needed.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize performance and troubleshoot complex data workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Build robust ETL workflows that handle structured, semi-structured, and unstructured sources at scale.
  • Design data models and ontologies that maximize the analytical power of the graph.
  • Implement data validation and integrity checks across all ingestion processes to ensure consistent, trustworthy data.
  • Develop APIs and data services that expose graph data to applications.
  • Optimize graph queries for performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify and integrate new data sources.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for pipelines, data models, and integration processes.
