Requirements
- 2+ years of background as a Data Engineer.
- Demonstrable experience in building and operationalizing data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with programming languages like Python and SQL.
- Solid grasp of data warehousing concepts and relational data modeling.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL queries, Databricks, Synapse, and SQL Server.
- Familiar with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines in the automation of ETL workloads.
- Familiar with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, along with related technologies.
Responsibilities
- Build, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Develop and uphold the company's data architecture, including data models, schemas, and data dictionaries.
- Integrate data from diverse sources, ensuring quality and consistency, and prepare it for analytical and operational uses.
- Adhere to data governance policies and processes to safeguard data security, privacy, and compliance.
- Collaborate with data professionals, including data scientists, analysts, and business team members, to comprehend data requirements and devise solutions to meet those needs.
- Stay informed about the latest tools and technologies, finding opportunities to improve Manulife's data infrastructure.
- Illustrate the aptitude to learn and apply established methods in data engineering and cloud computing to ensure scalable, efficient, and effective solutions.
