Ascential Technologies is seeking an experienced Data Engineer/Analyst to lead and support the ongoing development of their data analytics platform, playing a pivotal role in building, maintaining, and enhancing scalable data systems to provide insights from complex data sets across various industrial, aerospace, automotive, and medical systems.
Requirements
- Proven expertise with ELK stack, OpenSearch, and/or OpenTelemetry
- Strong programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Experience with data cleaning, transformation, and preprocessing for engineering and industrial data
- Hands-on experience with cloud deployments such as Elastic Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Proficiency with visualization frameworks including Kibana, OpenSearch Dashboards, and Grafana
- Knowledge of core programming principles and design patterns
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced data collectors for diverse industrial, aerospace, automotive, and medical systems
- Architect and optimize robust data pipelines for on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring scalability and fault tolerance
- Analyze machine-generated log files from test stands, medical devices, and automation systems to extract actionable insights
- Clean, preprocess, and augment datasets with derived features to enhance analytical value
- Implement updates and enhancements to accommodate evolving data file types and formats such as CSV, SQL, PLC logs, and text files
- Develop and implement dashboards and reports tailored to specific test and measurement applications
- Apply AI/LLM frameworks to generate automated reports, summarize data, and provide predictive analytics and anomaly detection

- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data science, or analytics roles for both on-premises and cloud environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, capable of engaging with both technical and customer stakeholders
- Collaborate with customers to gather requirements, troubleshoot problems, and deliver tailored solutions
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance to internal teams
