Alterman's data pipelines need a key technical resource to contextualize and provide easy access to data for the entire organization. The Data Engineer I will design, build, and deploy data solutions that capture, explore, transform, and utilize data to support and drive business initiatives.
Requirements
- 2 years of related experience engineering and operationalizing data pipelines within a cloud environment required.
- 2 years of related experience with ELT and Data Warehousing required.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and Snowflake required.
- Experience with SQL required; Python preferred for light transformations and automation.
- Experience with data engineering best practices for development required, including query optimization, version control, code reviews and documentation.
- Proficient in SQL and/or Python.
- Familiarity with data quality, lineage, and cataloging practices.
Responsibilities
- Constructs new data pipelines and optimizes existing ones to ensure resiliency and scalability.
- Designs data models for optimized reporting.
- Creates complex views specific for various operations groups.
- Creates Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) jobs from various data sources.
- Assists data team with data initiatives and automation needs.
- Maintains and enforces best practices with regards to data source control and queries.
- Contributes to data catalogs and dictionaries.
