AWS Infrastructure Services is looking to solve the problem of maintaining and expanding AWS global infrastructure, ensuring the cloud runs efficiently and sustainably. This includes managing data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to provide continuous access to AWS services. Additionally, AWS is focused on decarbonizing its operations and achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, as well as becoming water positive by 2030.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
  • Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell)
  • Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
  • Experience with any ETL tool like, Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Develop large data models for clients in energy, renewable resources, sustainability, and water sectors, enabling them to assess their portfolios.
  • Help data scientists create predictive models to enhance decision-making.
  • Build advanced analytics tools and data-driven platforms to empower AWS, customers, and partners to make informed decisions for improving the environmental impact of cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Integrate sustainability metrics across AWS operations, from energy procurement to carbon footprint tracking.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative technology to manage AWS's growing portfolio of renewable energy investments, including solar, on-shore and off-shore wind farms.
  • Design, plan, deliver, and operate AWS global infrastructure to ensure continual access to AWS services.
  • Work on complex problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain to deliver the highest standards for safety and security at the lowest possible cost.
