Premera is seeking a Data Engineer I, Workforce Management to create, modify, and test code, forms, and scripts that construct data sets to drive Data Science and Business Intelligence capabilities, aiming to improve customers' lives by making healthcare work better.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, relational database theory, and skills to utilize one or more programming languages (Required).
- Familiarity with healthcare specific regulatory requirements for data management.
- Experience providing data integration services within healthcare organizations.
- Knowledge of Tableau, SAS, R, and other analytic tools.
- Develop, implement, and maintain data sets and extract, transform, load (ETL) scripts and processes.
- Use scripting skills to create data models and pipelines.
- Develop code to complete effective solutions using applicable technology.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain data sets and extract, transform, load (ETL) scripts and processes.
- Use scripting skills to create data models and pipelines.
- Translate business needs into requirements and specifications for data processes and tools.
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise and solve problems independently and collaboratively.
- Collaborate with data scientists and other analysts to further understand business problems.
- Develop code to complete effective solutions using applicable technology.
- Perform basic ETL (extract, transform, load) processes.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or similar area (Required).
- This is primarily a sedentary role which requires the ability to exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- This role requires the ability to keyboard and to communicate clearly and understandably in person and over the telephone.
