Northwest Bank is looking to support its cloud data operations, functions, pipelines, and architectures by adding new data sources to the existing Data Lake, incorporating data from the Data Lake into Azure Synapse, migrating existing on-premises SQL Server EDW and CECL to Azure Synapse, and activating the Azure Analytics engine to help analysts and data scientists gain deeper insights into customer and bank data.
Requirements
- MS Azure Synapse knowledge and skills required
- Ability to design, manage, and implement simple data flows and information architectures for financial institutions
- Knowledge of analytics scripting tools
- Ability to design, build and manage data pipelines for data structures encompassing data transformation, data models, schemas, metadata and workload management
- Ability to work with large, heterogeneous datasets in building and optimizing data pipelines, pipeline architectures and integrated datasets using traditional data integration technologies using APIs, Azure data Factory, etc
- Knowledge of popular data discovery, analytics and BI software tools like Microsoft PowerBI
- Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
Responsibilities
- Engage with business partners to define Azure Synapse use cases to be supported in migration to Azure Synapse
- Deploy Data Lake to business units and provide direct support for their use cases
- Manage and monitor business user Data Lake use cases for successful outcomes; assist business users in leveraging and capitalizing on these outcomes
- Migrate existing Data Lake data to Azure Synapse (will work with an offshore team)
- Migrate existing on-premises SQL Server EDW to Azure Synapse
- Design, build and optimize data pipelines from operational data stores to points of consumption (e.g. business stakeholders are constantly requesting new data ingestion, and need to deliver the data in a way to be consumed rapidly by business users)
- Assist business and technology stakeholders in the use of tools and data to drive higher automation rates, and thereby greater efficiency in Bank operations
Other
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Management, or Information Science or related quantitative subject
- 2 - 3 years Data Engineer I experience
- 2 - 3 years Power BI Development
- Ability to establish effective working relationships among team members and participate in solving problems and making decisions
- Ability to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience, whether oral or written
