The Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer II to join their innovative data services team to build and maintain robust data pipelines that enable advanced analytics initiatives and support data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of any data storage systems and techniques
  • Knowledge of any data transformation systems and techniques
  • Experience developing software
  • Experience developing data pipelines on cloud computing platforms
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses
  • Experience analyzing business requirements
  • Experience designing solutions to a business problem

Responsibilities

  • Develops data pipelines to replicate and aggregate data in a data warehouse
  • Model data and is responsible for data acquisition and access analysis and design
  • Designs and implements archive, recovery, and load strategies
  • Determines database structural requirements by analyzing client or internal operations, applications, and programming
  • Reviews objectives with clients or internal users and evaluates current systems
  • Coordinates new data development, ensuring consistency and providing for integration with existing warehouse structure
  • Research data sources for new and better data feeds

Other

  • 4 years of experience in an information technology field or data management
  • A two-year degree or certification in computer science, management information systems, data management, or a related field
  • Ability to produce an accurate, timely and quality product to a customer
  • Experience providing excellent customer service to both internal and external clients
  • Must be able to work in a comfortable office setting with a computer and telephone for a large percentage of the workday
