Fanatics Betting and Gaming is seeking a Data Engineer II to help continue building their data platform, which is crucial for powering data and analytics teams to identify meaningful insights using sports data.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of SQL and ETL/ELT for complex data transformations
- Experience writing Python
- Knowledge of several of the following technologies: Snowflake, AWS Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow, dbt, Tableau, MongoDB, Postgres SQL
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing, testing, and maintaining data pipelines, databases, and warehouses that aggregate and store data from numerous internal and external systems.
- Conducting and participating in code and system inspections
- Help the development team define and adhere to the principles, guidelines, and best practices of Data Engineering
Other
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (BI analysts, other data engineers and data scientists)
- Collaborate with leaders to define requirements and deliver quality data solutions
- Develop a deep understanding of Fanatics Betting and Gaming data
- Mentor junior data engineers
- A self-learner with a strong ability to gather, evaluate, and analyze requirements
- Improves processes and champions best practices to avoid technical debt
