Uber Freight US LLC is looking for a Data Engineer III to manage and maintain their Tableau Server environment, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. The role involves optimizing performance, supporting business users, and partnering with technical teams to design effective reporting solutions.

Requirements

  • Analyzed, Designed, Developed Implemented, Maintained and Supported Data warehousing application infrastructure for the Tableau tool and Tableau Server including Tableau dashboards and reports using data from various sources, including SQL Server, Oracle, and Excel for multiple enterprise clients, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security;
  • Optimized Tableau performance by conducting regular maintenance, tuning configurations, upgrading software versions and administrating Tableau Server tasks including Tableau server optimization and performance tuning;
  • Installed, configured, administered and maintained Tableau Server using the Tableau Command Line Utility on-premises and in the cloud, ensuring optimal performance and availability;
  • Created Tableau Data Extracts, published to Tableau server, and set up schedule refreshes to the Tableau Data Extract;
  • Managed the Tableau users and group's security configuration and Integration with active directory;
  • 3 years of experience in logistics data analytics;
  • 3 years of experience in ETL and automation software such as Alteryx;
  • 3 years of experience in each of the following tools: SQL, Python, Tableau

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain Tableau Server Software Layer;
  • System Administration (includes site creation, server maintenance/upgrades/patches);
  • Change management including software, hardware upgrades, patches, monitor server activity/usage statistics to identify possible performance issues/enhancements, performance tuning / server management of tableau server environment (clustering, load balancing);
  • Create/Manage Groups, Workbooks and Projects, Database Views, Data Sources and Data Connections;
  • Manage and support migration of objects (dimensions, measures, hierarchies, reports, workbooks, dashboards) from development to production environments;
  • Assist in the identification and migration of data sources to Tableau server;
  • Install, configured, administered and maintained Tableau Server using the Tableau Command Line Utility on-premises and in the cloud, ensuring optimal performance and availability;

Other

  • Requires Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other directly related field, plus the following experience:
  • 3 years of experience as a Lead Tableau Administrator
  • Conducted Tableau training sessions for new and end users and provided ongoing support and guidance to ensure successful adoption of the platform to its fullest potential;
  • Mentored junior Tableau administrators and provided guidance on best practices, performance optimization, and system administration;
  • Must reside within commuting distance from employer’s Frisco, TX office.
