The purpose of the Data Engineer internship position is to develop college students that are pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in data engineering, business or a similar field. Interns will be exposed to a variety of projects and activities that occur within the energy business. Interns will have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace.
Requirements
- Solid computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
Responsibilities
- Support the integration of real-time and historical data from various sources including operational databases, third-party reports and Excel files
- Implement best practices to clean, transform, and validate data to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Collaborate with performance engineers to identify data needs and improve reporting workflows
- Integrate datasets into enterprise tools such as Azure, Databricks and PowerBI
- Additional projects as assigned
Other
- Must be a college student, sophomore or higher standing, currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master’s degree program in engineering, business or related field
- Prior utility or energy industry experience helpful but not required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective project management skills
- Effective analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete projects within tight deadlines
- Employment is contingent upon passing a post-offer background check and drug screen
