The Governor's Office of Information Technology (OIT) needs to improve the lives of all Coloradans through innovation and collaboration by reimagining how IT supports agencies, building first-of-their-kind applications, and creating an inclusive, collaborative culture. This role specifically addresses the need for efficient data management and analysis to support agency operations and provide equitable access to services.
Requirements
- A minimum of three years (3) of experience in software development, data science, data engineering, ETL, and analytics reporting development
- A minimum of one year (1) of experience designing, building, implementing, and maintaining data and system integrations using dimensional data modeling and development and optimization of ETL pipelines.
- A minimum of one year (1) of experience designing, building, implementing, and maintaining data and system integrations and data transformations utilizing Snowflake.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Experience with Python, R or other programming languages used in data engineering.
- Experience with Snowflake, Informatica, MuleSoft, AWS Glue is a plus.
- Experience with CI / CD and source control platforms like Azure DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Designing systems: Creating systems for collecting, storing, and analyzing data.
- Building data pipelines: Connecting information from different systems into a single pipeline.
- Cleansing data: Integrating, consolidating, and cleansing data to make it usable.
- Securing data: Managing and storing data to protect it from loss or theft.
- Scaling data: Considering how to scale the system if the amount of data grows.
- Connecting to cloud: Connecting OIT’s business systems to cloud-based systems.
- Creating models: Creating models to analyze data faster and more accurately.

- Term Limited Position: This position is term limited with an anticipated end date of approximately two years from the date of hire.
- Previous experience working for a government agency.
- Experience with the public sector, especially with the business domain of labor and employment.
- This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed.
