Advanced Materials is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to oversee the delivery of analytics solutions across all business functions and ensure high-quality data management practices, aligning technical capabilities with business needs to drive business value through analytics.

Requirements

  • Intermediate-level proficiency in languages such as SQL, Python and Spark with advanced knowledge of modern data engineering tools and practices
  • Prior experience with enterprise-scale platforms: Snowflake or similar Data Warehouses, Databricks or similar AI/ML Platforms, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services, HVR, Fivetran or similar Data Ingestion and Transformation Tools
  • Strong business process and domain knowledge across multiple functions with demonstrated ability to turn business requirements into analytics solutions
  • Experience implementing quality assurance and user acceptance testing processes for analytics deliverables
  • Strong experience in requirements gathering, project prioritization, and managing competing business demands
  • Familiarity with IT Operations, ITIL practices and other service management frameworks
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and service transitions

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, delivery and support for Enterprise Data Warehouse, Analytics, DataOps, Data/AI Applications, and pipelines
  • Oversee Metadata catalogs and report enhancement initiatives while establishing data quality standards
  • Lead efforts in observability, and lineage tracking to maintain high integrity in AI/ML datasets
  • Identify whitespace opportunities for analytics & data engineering, manage idea backlogs, and drive strategic initiatives that deliver measurable business value
  • Optimize analytics asset inventory and streamline gathering processes to ensure high-quality, business-aligned deliverables
  • Establish frameworks for vendor management and technical escalation procedures with clear accountability
  • Manage and mentor technical contract service workers while establishing standards, innovative approaches and best practices, fostering excellence

Other

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Data and Analytics with demonstrated business impact across multiple functional domains
  • Cross-Functional domain expertise in multiple domains such as Commercial, Pricing, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Customer Experience and other similar domains typical to manufacturing industry
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills with ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated success in managing initiatives across organizational boundaries and building consensus
