Great American Insurance Group's Strategic Sourcing Department needs to build and implement a robust database system to support growing data needs
Requirements
- Experience with SQL and relational database design (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar)
- Proficiency in Tableau for data visualization and storytelling
- Familiarity with data cleaning and transformation techniques
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement a relational database tailored to business requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data needs and translate them into technical specs
- Clean, structure, and migrate data from various sources into the new database
- Assist in creation of dynamic Tableau dashboards and reports to visualize key metrics and trends
- Optimize queries and ensure data integrity, security, and scalability
- Document processes and provide recommendations for future improvements
Other
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Must be able to work part-time hours during the spring semester of 2026
- Ability to work on a hybrid schedule
