The School District of Philadelphia is seeking to transform the educational opportunities for its students by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, quality, and security of the district's data assets through the implementation of data governance strategies.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data governance.
  • Expertise in data discovery, data quality, data profiling, data sharing, metadata, data security, and taxonomy, elementary ontology concepts, and Master Data Management (MDM).
  • Proficiency in data management and analysis tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, SQL, Excel, Google Sheets, R, Python).
  • Ability to create and generate reports through Crystal Reports or other District reporting tools, analyzing data from the District’s mainframe system.
  • Ability to manipulate data using various spreadsheet applications such as MS Excel.
  • Ability to apply problem solving skills in the maintenance of databases/ tracking systems.
  • Utilize data modeling techniques to design semantic and ontological models that enhance data understanding and alignment with business concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with data stewards, data analysts, and other teams to ensure data models meet current and future data management needs.
  • Provide technical architecture leadership to shape the data council and ensure the technical outcomes of its decisions.
  • Serve as the technical counterpart to solutions and domain architects to ensure alignment of business, data, and technology strategies.
  • Oversee the review of data models, data taxonomy, data domains, metadata, and critical business data.
  • Ensure data content control is precise and unambiguous, and data usage is consistent and transparent.
  • Develop and recommend data architecture components to support data catalogs, data governance, data pipelines, and storage solutions.
  • Design and implement data governance strategies, structures, and processes within the Logitech Organization that are scalable across the entire organization.

Other

  • Good leadership and technical skills to guide data governance council initiatives, and align data practices with business objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Four years of full-time, paid, professional experience with in Data Quality, Data Architectural Design and Technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Be passionate about educational equity.
