Electric Boat is seeking a skilled Data Modeler to support its Supplier Quality organization by designing, developing, and maintaining robust data models that drive critical analytics, reporting, and decision-making. The goal is to transform complex supplier quality data into actionable insights to promote continuous improvement and support business expansion.
Requirements
- Proficiency with modeling tools for developing tabular models (Semantic, SSAS, Visual Studio, SQL Server Data, SSMS, PBI Online)
- Proficiency with Coding Languages (SQL, DAX, M Code)
- Ability to design and optimize data models for performance, efficiency and usability
- Proficiency with version control systems (e.g. GIT Lab, JIRA) for managing data model projects
- Solid understanding of data transformation tools (Power Query, SQL Server, or similar)
- Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating data
- Proficiency in data visualizations (Power BI)
Responsibilities
- Developing automations and processes that grow Supplier Quality data analytics infrastructure
- Championing data and modeling best-practices to improve our overall quality posture
- Demonstrate proficiency in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and schema creation
- Developing and maintaining dashboards for data analytics and visualization
- Ensure data models are scalable, well-documented and compliant with current EB BI Hub guidelines and data governance standards
- Supporting the evaluation and implementation of new technology solutions, including AI
- Training and supporting Power BI dashboard developers within the Supplier Quality organization
Other
- A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineer, Information Technology, or a related field
- 4+ years of combined experience in data modeling, data visualization, data analytics and/or reporting
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Team collaboration and communication skills both internal and external to the organization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
