The Boeing Company's Data Platform Chief Engineer role aims to transform how BDS data is sourced, managed, and utilized to unlock insights that drive business growth and optimization, supporting data needs for internal stakeholders and improving the full lifecycle of BDS products.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading the development of solution architecture for large, complex software projects.
• High-level end-to-end understanding of software design, development, testing, deployment, and delivery.
• Extensive experience with AWS.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional).

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of architecture strategy, implementation, operation, and process for the BDS Data Platform.
• Advocate and define cloud architecture vision, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems.
• Lead the development of plans, roadmaps, schedules, and budgets for the build-out and maturation of the global data platform.
• Establish architecture standards, best practices, and operational principles to govern platform and capability development.
• Develop and maintain metrics and measures of platform performance, including security, reliability, availability, portability, and scalability.
• Partner with operations and deployment teams to ensure smooth execution and delivery of data solutions and services.
• Lead a team of solution architects collaborating with business development, capability development, and deployment teams to craft purpose-fit end-to-end solution architectures aligned with the technology strategy.
