Miami University is looking to solve the problem of supplying coordinated, actionable data and information to support data-informed decision making at multiple levels within Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS)
Requirements
- Background in SQL or other programming skills necessary for data extraction and maintenance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to build visual dashboards and reports to accurately express key information to users
- Demonstrated experience with direct source data extraction via SQL, ETL, or related programming languages
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
- Demonstrated knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing quantitative datasets (R, SPSS, SAS, STATA, etc.)
- Ability to learn new software and continually acquire new competencies
Responsibilities
- Create user-friendly reports and data visualizations to support critical university functions, including admissions, maintenance of student records, and evaluation of student success initiatives
- Extract, manipulate, and combine data directly from primary and secondary sources using multiple technologies, including Workday Reporting, ETL, SQL, WQL, Tableau Prep or similar products
- Manage data collection, storage, reporting, and analysis practices to evaluate goals and assess outcomes of Enrollment Management and Student Success units
- Analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Interpret data and analyses using advanced statistical techniques
- Monitor, assess, and develop comprehensive reports on the impact of targeted interventions
- Enhance skillset with data analytics tools and methods and learn new software as needed
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate's Degree and 2 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work quickly and accurately with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to represent the division and Miami University in professional settings
