The Home Depot is looking to optimize hourly associate staffing and various distribution center operations through advanced data analytics, operations research, and modeling to drive strategic decision-making for senior supply chain leaders, contributing to cost minimization and service maximization.

Requirements

  • Advanced SQL (with a preference for Google BigQuery)
  • Python programming (with pandas)
  • Operations research techniques (e.g., linear and integer programming)
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, with significant experience running complex queries against large datasets, preferably with Google BigQuery
  • Strong Python programming skills, including extensive experience with the pandas library for data manipulation, analysis, and automation
  • Solid understanding and practical application of operations research and modeling basics, such as linear programming and integer programming
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and advanced formulas

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and business analysts to deliver high quality analytics solutions
  • Determine best method to gather, model, manipulate and present data
  • Interpret and translate results from complex analysis into understandable and relevant insights
  • Perform data analytics for a variety of business problems and opportunities
  • Apply a wide variety of database applications and analytical tools, including SQL, Google Cloud Big Query and Python
  • Evaluate, process, analyze and interpret statistical data
  • Cleanse, validate and test data

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
  • Proven experience with data mining and data analysis
  • Master's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
  • 2 years of work experience
