Midwest Employers Casualty (MEC) is looking to improve the quality of life for employees severely injured on the job and help companies understand and mitigate their risk for workers’ compensation injuries by leveraging data science, machine learning, and AI tools to uncover actionable business insights and develop automated AI systems.
Requirements
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft technologies such as SQL Server, Power BI, and the Office Suite.
- Utilize other applications effectively, including VS Code, Python, GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
- Exposure to Cloud and Generative AI tools and solutions
- Proficiency with Excel; experience with database querying a plus.
- Proficiency with a programming language; python is preferred
Responsibilities
- Utilize machine learning and AI tools to uncover actionable business insights.
- Integrate disparate datasets from various internal and external sources to extract meaningful insights.
- Fulfill the data needs of internal and external stakeholders by delivering reports and electronic files as required.
- Participate in code reviews and validate code results through thorough analysis of data outputs.
- Observe and contribute to all stages of the model and application development lifecycle, including planning, requirements gathering, development, and testing.
- Develop a foundational understanding of information technology, particularly in relation to data, data warehousing, ETL processes, and data mining.
- Utilize data to address assigned business challenges, providing written, graphical, and verbal summaries of analyses.
