Phenomenex, a Danaher operating company, is looking to solve the separation and purification challenges of researchers, advancing the future of scientific analysis and investigation, ensuring the quality of essentials like food, water, shampoo, and even cold medication.

Requirements

  • Experience with data analysis tools and languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Exposure to life sciences data such as genomics, proteomics, clinical trial data, EHR, or lab instrument data
  • Familiarity with statistical methods used in biological or clinical research
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Git

Responsibilities

  • Analyze structured and unstructured data from diverse sources (e.g., clinical trials, genomics, manufacturing, sales, laboratory instruments)
  • Build and evaluate machine learning models for predictive or classification tasks relevant to drug development, diagnostics, or operations
  • Perform data wrangling, cleaning, and feature engineering on complex datasets. Develop visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Present findings to the team and potentially broader audiences within the organization
  • Assist in designing experiments and analyzing results for research studies
  • Document methodologies, workflows, and results in clear and reproducible formats

Other

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Engineering, or a related field
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work on-site in Torrance, CA
  • Eligibility for remote work arrangement
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and IT professionals
