Daimler Truck Remarketing (DTR) needs to use data and Machine Learning to build models to drive insights and decision-making for DTR. The specific problem is to develop a solution that predicts the time it takes a used truck to get ready for delivery to a dealer on the VIN level and then take weighted averages of all predictions to get the average time it takes to get a truck ready.
Requirements
- Some demonstration of programming skills in one or more languages
- The ability to create insights utilizing machine learning
- A basic understanding of how machine learning works with the goal of supporting the domain experts
- Experience with: SQL, Python, R, Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Presenting
Responsibilities
- Custom SQL code to combine necessary data about trucks on the VIN level
- A SQL database table containing all truck VIN level data
- Custom Python or R machine learning model to predict the time it takes for a truck to be ready for delivery
- Custom Python or R machine learning code to score the data to make new predictions
- Set schedule for model to run automatically to build and score model
- A SQL database table containing all the predictions on a VIN level
- Perform deep dive diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to support data-driven business decision making
Other
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program or higher from an accredited college/university OR have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date (May/June)
- Pursuing a bachelors degree Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Physics or related field.
