RaceTrac's Enterprise Strategic Analytics and Data Science (ESADS) team needs support in developing predictive and prescriptive analytics to solve real-world analytical problems, including exploratory data analysis, basic modeling, data preparation, and insight generation.
Requirements
- Familiarity with Python and SQL preferred
- Exposure to analytical or dashboarding tools (e.g., Databricks, Power BI, Tableau) preferred
- Understanding of foundational statistical concepts and analytical problem-solving
- Prior internship or project work in analytics or data science preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day work of the ESADS Data Science team, including data preparation, exploratory analysis, visualization, and assisting in predictive modeling tasks
- Contribute to building insights, reports, or dashboards that help identify trends and support business decisions
- Assist with basic feature engineering, data transformations, and quality checks to enable analytical and modeling work
- Collaborate with Strategic Analytics Partners and the Data Science team to understand business needs and translate them into analytical tasks
- Prepare presentations and communicate findings to stakeholders and cross-functional partners in a clear and structured manner
- Own and manage a dedicated workstream within a summer-long project, executing the scope from start to finish and presenting outcomes to ESADS leadership and relevant business partners
- Provide support with additional special projects, research, or analytical requests as needed
Other
- Current enrollment in a college or university majoring in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related analytical discipline
- Current enrollment in a college or university with a major that aligns with the department
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Office)
- Previous internship experience preferred
