Travelers is looking to solve key business problems by using advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to enhance customer experience

Requirements

  • Basic working knowledge of modeling/research/ analytics or actuarial required
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques with the ability to learn statistical software programs
  • Ability to apply statistical procedures to work as directed
  • Developing knowledge in: Regression, Classification, Machine Vision, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning and Statistical modeling
  • Heavy concentration in mathematics, including statistics and programming, business intelligence/analytics, as well as data science tools and research using large data sets
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Decision Sciences, Actuarial Science or related analytical STEM field or any suitable and equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Additional verification of specific coursework will be required

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks to support the development of analytical solutions following defined processes
  • Learn domain and business knowledge to perform assigned steps to build statistical models
  • Communicate analysis, insights, and results to manager and working team
  • Develop your understanding of key business areas (e.g., product, enterprise, industry, claim process and competitors) that enable project work
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Assist in analyzing data sources to generate actionable insights and solutions
  • Build models that solve key business problems

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Decision Sciences, Actuarial Science or related analytical STEM field or any suitable and equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Accountability: Strong track record of taking ownership and responsibility for actions and outcomes, performance, and results
  • Analytical and Critical Thinking: Demonstrated aptitude in identifying current or future problems or opportunities, analyzing data, synthesizing and comparing information to understand issues, identifying cause/effect relationships and exploring alternative solutions to support sound decision making
  • Occasional travel for business meetings and events is an expectation of program participants
  • Strong relationship management skills including the ability to seek out, build, foster and maintain productive relationships, networks or alliances to meet goals and achieve results
