At Meta, the Data Science Manager will help shape the future of experiences for billions of people and millions of businesses, creators, and partners by applying leadership, project management, analytical, and technical skills to one of the largest datasets in the world. The role aims to influence product strategy and investment decisions with data, focusing on impact and leading a high-performing team.
Requirements
- Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R)
- Experience initiating and completing analytical projects with minimal guidance
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of data scientists to develop strategies for our products that serve billions of people and hundreds of millions of businesses, creators, and partners around the world
- Drive analytics projects end-to-end in partnership with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions
- Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches
- Identify and measure success of product efforts through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring of key product metrics to understand trends
- Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers to improve the product, and drive roadmaps through your insights and recommendations
- Contribute towards advancing the Data Science discipline at Meta, including but not limited to driving data best practices (e.g. analysis, goaling, experimentation), improving analytical processes, scaling knowledge and tools, and mentoring other data scientists
Other
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
- A minimum of 4 years of work experience (2+ years with a Ph.D.) in applied analytics, including a minimum of 2 years of experience managing analytics teams
- Experience communicating results of analysis to senior leadership
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or another quantitative field.
- Experience working in technology, consulting, or finance.
- Proven track record of leading high-performing analytics teams.
