instED is looking to solve the problems of unnecessary and avoidable visits to Emergency Departments and inpatient hospital admissions by offering quality urgent care services in the comfort of the patient’s home, and the Data Science Manager role is intended to support this goal through data-driven decision making and building predictive tools/processes.
Requirements
- Extensive experience conducting analysis for Value Based Care Management models
- Expertise with Python (numpy, pandas, sklearn, nltk…)
- Strong understanding of statistical techniques like descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, regression analysis, time series analysis, and probability distributions to analyze risk data and validate models
- Experience and excellent understanding of machine learning modeling techniques and algorithms for tasks like risk prediction, fraud detection, and credit scoring
- Expertise with relational databases and SQL
- Expertise with data visualization and tools
- Experience with data exploration, data wrangling and feature engineering
- Strong scripting and programming skills
- Experience with cloud data warehouses and cloud provider services (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure)
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the creation of analytics platforms and data products that will drive core business processes and be used by analysts across the organization
- Analyze performance of existing risk based contracts to identify areas of improvement
- Evaluate clinical and claims information shared by prospects to identify patient population and services for value based contracts
- Support ongoing deployment of predictive models which help instED identify ER and in-patient utilization patterns as well as service needs of high-risk patient populations
- Conduct directed analysis and translated complex information into actionable insights to help clinical/business leadership make better, data driven decisions
- Maintain a current knowledge of emerging tools and techniques in machine learning, natural language processing, database systems, visualization, statistical modeling, data extraction/manipulation and so on
- Be an expert and keep expanding knowledge in urgent care, health insurance and non-traditional care delivery models

- Master’s degree + 4 year of equivalent work experience OR bachelor’s degree + 8 years of equivalent work experience (STEM major or related field preferred)
