Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Data Scientist to support the Sentinel program by understanding analytics and data modeling requirements, architecting and building data pipelines, managing data infrastructure, and developing visualizations to inform program stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries.
  • Experience managing and maintaining SQL databases.
  • Experience in defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to business and engineering analytics.
  • Expertise in developing and managing ETL processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python programming for data analysis, manipulation, and automation.
  • Proficient in using version control systems such as Git for collaborative development.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies for project management.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with teams across the entire program to understand their analytics and data modeling requirements
  • Help architect and build data pipelines connected to multiple program ASoTs
  • Apply data engineering processes and procedures to manage infrastructure, storage, and transformation of data to enable scalable and performant analytics
  • Develop and publish Tableau server dashboards and visualizations used to inform individuals and leaders across the program.
  • Apply state of the art data science approaches to develop analytical solutions providing program insights
  • Work within an agile framework focused on stakeholder outcomes
  • Recommend process changes to business leaders to improve efficiency

Other

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet its business need.
  • Strong communication skills to present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of relevant experience; Master’s Degree with 0 years’ experience; or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
