Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in using R or Python for data analysis, data structuring, transformation, and visualization of large datasets
- Builds basic machine learning models when appropriate and understands the associated trade-offs, including how to perform model evaluation, iteration, and optimization
- Applies business acumen in conjunction with technical knowledge to appropriately select techniques and designs for addressing business questions
- Possesses an advanced understanding of the relevant business domain and leverages this knowledge to refine core project questions, direct model design decisions
- Experience with iterative project delivery and collaborates closely with stakeholders to refine requirements, establish project scope for each stage, and evolve objectives based on ongoing insights
- Familiarity with techniques such as pre/post analysis, causal impact, multivariate methods, multi-armed bandit, etc.
- Experience collaborating with machine learning teams is preferred
Responsibilities
- Translate ambiguous business problems into clear analytics and research questions
- Build scalable data models and apply advanced statistical methods to generate insights and measure impact
- Collaborate with Machine Learning teams, leveraging ML methods when appropriate
- Work with large, complex data sources to uncover patterns and develop actionable recommendations
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to refine business questions and ensure insights inform product decisions
- Communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences through clear narratives and visualizations
- Balance rapid-response projects with longer-term initiatives that shape product roadmaps
Other
- A PhD, Master's, or Bachelor's degree (preferably in Mathematics or a scientific discipline) with 2-4 years of work experience, or at least 5 years in a similar data analytics role with relevant expertise
- Demonstrated experience in delivering multi-quarter, data-driven insights and recommendations that led to change or performance improvement for stakeholders
- Values transparency in all interactions and maintains regular communication with stakeholders, proactively addressing issues as they arise
- Ability to frame business challenges as analytics problems and clearly articulates project goals, methodologies, limitations, and conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Must be able to work in a flexible work model with some travel required
