State Farm is seeking a Data Scientist to leverage advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning to influence decision-making, develop innovative solutions, enhance data-driven insights, and foster a culture of analytics excellence.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in predictive model development and analytics.
- At least 2 years of experience building advanced analytic solutions in a corporate environment, utilizing generalized linear models, time series analysis, cluster analysis, tree-based algorithms, or neural networks.
- Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as Python, R, or SAS.
- Experience designing, building, and deploying AI solutions, including natural language processing, large language models, computer vision, or generative AI.
- Familiarity with experimental design concepts for business experiments.
- Experience working in cloud-based environments like AWS or Linux systems.
- Experience interpreting business requirements to develop scalable data science solutions within regulated environments (insurance, healthcare, finance).
Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and implement advanced analytic models and data-driven solutions to support strategic initiatives.
- Create and support datasets to facilitate AI and machine learning solution development.
- Design, build, and deploy AI solutions, including natural language processing, large language models, computer vision, or generative AI.
- Make strategic recommendations regarding data collection, integration, and retention aligned with business needs and best practices.
- Conduct peer reviews of model development work to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Assess model performance, investigate anomalies, and perform updates to optimize results continually.
- Support the integration of analytics into business processes to deliver measurable outcomes for State Farm’s AI/ML portfolio.
Other
- Master’s degree or higher in statistics, mathematics, economics, data science, operations research, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and decision points.
- Present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including leadership and business partners.
- Lead and mentor junior data scientists, interns, and technical teams to foster a collaborative learning environment.
- Build and maintain a network of domain experts and data professionals to enhance project outcomes.
