Drax's transition to providing carbon-negative low-cost electricity by conducting descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics to solve complex business problems.
Requirements
- experience with Python and the associated data science ecosystem/productionalization frameworks (Anaconda, scikit, Pandas, REST APIs…)
- comfortable extracting data from large SQL databases
- experience working within the major cloud environments; ideally AWS and/or Azure
- experience with Databricks, Spark etc.
- Experience working with big data streaming in near-real time, or other IOT related work, is an asset.
- minimum of 2 years non-academic production data science experience, including successful end-to-end development and deployment of data science models.
Responsibilities
- conducting descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics to solve complex business problems
- exploring and extracting maximum value out of Drax data and wider internal and external systems – spanning customer and financial management, supply chain, industrial IOT, and environmental data
- contribute to the knowledge base of Drax Data and Data Science, our Databricks-based Drax Data Library, and other relevant knowledge bases
- ensuring compliance with the latest data security, privacy (GDPR) and other data governance rules

- comfortable working in a distributed team in a remote environment
- local to the Southern US
- available for up to 20% travel to Drax locations in North America on an as-needed basis
