Tarleton State University is looking to transform into a future-focused data-informed institution and needs a Data Scientist to leverage its enterprise data infrastructure, business processes, and analytics capabilities to provide clear insights for executive decision-makers.
Requirements
- Knowledge of advance statistical analysis, interactive data visualization, programming or similar software applications.
- Knowledge of use of data mining.
- Ability to research and develop statistical learning models for data analysis.
- Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment system or water treatment system.
Responsibilities
- Develops statistical models and AI/ML algorithms, including design, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring, to help leaders solve critical problems and make smart decisions
- Works with senior administrators, faculty, staff, and external partners to turn data into insights and solutions via well-designed predictive models, visualizations, and presentations
- Collaborates with professionals at all parts of the data pipeline
- Promotes data and AI literacy across campus by assisting with staff trainings and mentoring graduate assistants
- Explores new partnerships and data sources that could open new opportunities
