UW Health is seeking a Data Scientist to work with large, unstructured and streaming datasets to drive insights and outcomes, connect, transform, and QA data across platforms, and create user-friendly data visualizations that support strategic and tactical decision-making.

Requirements

  • 2 years of data science or machine learning engineering experience including delivering high-quality data science solutions to stakeholders Preferred
  • 2 years of experience with data and statistical analysis preferably with large data sets or unstructured data (free text, images, machine or IoT) Preferred
  • 1 year of experience in healthcare (provider or payer) Preferred
  • Epic certifications in Cogito Preferred
  • Epic badge or certification in Cognitive Computing Platform Preferred
  • Demonstrate expertise in marketing KPIs, ROI analysis, customer journey tracking, campaign funnel metrics and attribution modeling
  • Translate business questions into data queries, data models, define KPIs and apply predictive models techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Work with large, unstructured and streaming datasets to drive insights and outcomes.
  • Connect, transform, and QA data across platforms including platforms CRM, EHR, paid media, web and email systems.
  • Create user-friendly data visualizations that support strategic and tactical decision-making.
  • Employ a robust knowledge of healthcare to deliver solutions that turn data into actionable insights.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights and/or visuals that support marketing, digital and executive teams to make smarter decisions.
  • Use strong SQL skills to build datasets, connect APIs and apply custom calculations and harmonizations across tools.
  • Recommend improvements to current BI infrastructure, data pipelines, and governance processes.

Other

  • This is a full time, remote, position.
  • Work schedule will be Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or relevant quantitative Engineering field (Four (4) years relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree) Required
  • Master's Degree or Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or relevant Engineering field Preferred
  • Serve as the technical lead on Salesforce MCI, advancing platform maturity, integrations, data modeling best practices.
