Zscaler is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to define and develop a new class of market-leading products focused on AI and machine learning to enhance Zscaler's internal platforms and customer-facing solutions.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience applying diverse data science models and advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques for large-scale data analysis.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience using ML frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Strong skills in data manipulation, visualization, and analytical techniques and tools.
- Proven ability to independently solve complex problems and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement machine learning models, including large language models and generative AI systems, to improve Zscaler’s platform intelligence and capabilities.
- Conduct research and development in advanced AI/ML areas such as generative AI, predictive analytics, and anomaly detection to drive innovation.
- Analyze complex datasets to extract key insights, continuously refining models to enhance accuracy and performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate AI/ML solutions into Zscaler’s core products and services effectively.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI, ML, and cybersecurity, applying new methodologies and frameworks to maintain technical excellence.
- Contribute to the development of scalable AI solutions suitable for production environments, ensuring robustness and reliability.

- Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field.
