ICF is seeking a Data Scientist to support client-facing projects that accelerate the transition to a smarter, cleaner electric grid by implementing high-impact solutions in distributed energy resources (DER), electric vehicle (EV) integration, and load flexibility.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience using Databricks, Power BI, or similar tools for data modeling and visualization
- Experience with large scale data analytics frameworks such as Apache Spark
- Experience working with Azure Databricks
- Proficiency in working with tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Proficiency with cloud networking (DNS, TCP, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, Load Balancing, VPN, and VPC), storage, security, and compute
- Experience working with and supporting Agile development teams
Responsibilities
- Ingest, clean, and transform large datasets using Python, SQL, and Databricks
- Conduct exploratory analysis, build analytical models, and generate actionable insights
- Develop clear, compelling dashboards and reports in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
- Translate client requirements into well-structured analytics tasks and deliverables
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while optimizing workflows for performance and scalability
- Manage and prioritize a diverse set of technical assignments across multiple projects
- Work with cross-functional teams including data engineers, scientists, and policy experts to ensure high-quality client deliverables
Other
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field
- 2+ years of professional or academic experience working with data pipelines, analysis, or dashboards
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to support client meetings and deliverables
- Effective time management and ability to adapt to changing priorities
