Roku is looking for a Data Scientist to drive forecasting, reporting, and analyzing for Roku’s Key Performance Metrics (KPMs). Streaming Hours and other engagement metrics are used by senior leadership to understand our user base health, develop financial forecasts and make strategic decisions.
Requirements
- Excellent command of SQL and experience working with Big Data
- Proficient in Excel
- Experience in R or Python
- Experience with data visualization platform like Tableau, Looker, etc
- Statistics knowledge: A/B testing, statistical inference, interpretation of data, etc.
- Academic background in math, physics, computer science, economics, engineering
Responsibilities
- Support the analytical needs of the finance team and executive leadership, inclusive of business performance reporting, ad hoc analysis, statistical inference and predictive modeling for Roku's KPMs
- Provide analytical support and monitor key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of changes.
- Conduct deep dives when observing abnormal trends and identify potential risks before they manifest
- Understand drivers of value creation to guide strategic and financial planning
- Leverage Roku's vast amounts of data to generate business insights that inform strategy at the highest levels of leadership
- Ensure accuracy of key performance metrics before they are released both internally and externally
- Deliver presentations to clearly and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders
Other
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a quantitative field (e.g. data scientist, analyst, technical consulting) in technology, e-commerce, or finance
- Strong communication skills across verbal, written, and presentations
