Areté is looking for Data Scientists to transform physical data into actionable intelligence for national security challenges by applying sophisticated signal processing coupled with machine learning (ML) / artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python
- Demonstrated Python development of custom DNNs and algorithm streams with packages such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, Gymnasium, and OpenCV
- Coding of recurrent neural nets, reinforcement learning, transformer nets
- Use of Large Language Models (LLMs) for generation of code and documentation, as well as coding of natural language interfaces, including fine tuning and ingestion of custom knowledge bases
- Experience with remote sensing (Electro-Optics, RADAR, LIDAR, SONAR) and military applications
- Experience with physical data and physics-based simulation
- Image and signal processing, computer vision
Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and test custom AI/ML-based algorithms
- Train Deep Neural Network (DNN) and feature-based algorithms for classification and regression on imagery and high-dimensional data
- Work with software engineers to implement your algorithms in real-time on a variety of high-performance, CPU and GPU-based computing hardware
- Quantify the effectiveness of your algorithms and present your results to the team and customers

- A degree in physics, mathematics, computer science, or data science

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance and program access
