Zions Bancorporation is looking for a Data Scientist to deliver insight from data that is actionable and will drive revenue growth, cost reduction, and meet new regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Expertise in Fraud Detection and Risk Modeling - Proven experience developing and deploying machine learning models for fraud detection, anomaly detection, or financial risk assessment in a production environment.
  • Strong Machine Learning and Statistical Modeling Skills - Proficiency in supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, including logistic regression, decision trees, ensemble methods, clustering, and deep learning.
  • Experience with Recommendation Systems - Hands-on experience designing and implementing collaborative filtering, content-based, or hybrid recommendation systems.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI Techniques - Working knowledge of generative models (e.g., GANs, VAEs, LLMs) and their application in financial services, customer engagement, or internal automation.
  • Proficiency in Programming and Data Tools - Strong coding skills in Python or R, with experience using libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch, pandas, and SQL for data manipulation and model development.
  • Cloud and MLOps Experience - Experience deploying models using cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, model monitoring, and version control.

  • Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills - Ability to translate complex analytical insights into actionable business recommendations and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including fraud, IT, and product.
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a Quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field and 6+ years experience. A Master’s degree is preferred.
