The Infrastructure & Corporate Citizenship (ICC) team at General Motors is seeking a Data Scientist to drive analytics, insights strategy, data pipeline development, software integrations, and project-based solutions that support and advance ICC’s strategic objectives.
Requirements
- Python proficiency.
- Expertise across multiple domains of forecasting, clustering, classification, optimization, deep learning, natural language processing, LLMs, generative AI, and/or other machine learning and AI methodologies.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to effectively communicate insights.
- Familiarity with data storage solutions, databases, and data processing frameworks.
- Experience with SQL, Databricks and/or other cloud-based data science platforms.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 7 years’ experience as a data scientist, statistician, research scientist, AI analyst, ML engineer, or related role
Responsibilities
- Analyze large amounts of diverse information to discover trends and patterns to drive business decisions.
- Develop UI applications to deliver insights to business clients.
- Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.
- Monitor and sustain model effectiveness.
- Present complex information using data visualization techniques.
- Create repeatable and scalable code bases and processes for improving development / execution efficiency.
- Develop predictive and prescriptive models using machine-learning algorithms, optimization and AI solutions.
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or a related degree/equivalent experience.
- 5 years’ experience as a data scientist, statistician, research scientist, AI analyst, ML engineer, or related role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated working experiences with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills to present findings to business partner and leadership
