Optum is seeking to solve large-scale, complex data challenges and drive the adoption of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) practices to solve real-world customer problems and improve consumer experiences and operational efficiencies.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and advanced analytics techniques
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with AI frameworks and tools, including Gen AI and ML model deployment
- Extensive experience in large-scale data environments and analytics
- Experience with data science workflows, model deployment, and model monitoring
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership in designing and implementing large-scale data science solutions
- Partner with product, engineering, and design teams to develop innovative data-driven products
- Lead AI and ML initiatives, including the adoption of Gen AI technologies and building proof of concept projects
- Advance analytics methods and build scalable, maintainable analytics solutions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
- Establish best practices for data science workflows, model deployment, and model monitoring
Other
- Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven leadership in technical projects and cross-functional collaboration
- Experience mentoring junior team members and fostering a collaborative environment
