Shipt is seeking to build next-generation systems that use cutting-edge technology and advanced mathematics to forecast, optimize, diagnose, and improve order offering and surge pay systems
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with mathematical optimization, economics, or statistical modeling
- Professional proficiency in a high-level programming language (we use Python)
- Strong professional experience with SQL skills (we use Snowflake)
- Experience with common ML algorithms and frameworks
- Proficiency with engineering best practices such as load testing, test-driven development, and real-time monitoring
Responsibilities
- building systems and performing analytical tasks
- enhance and optimize efficient ML services including data pipeline development, automation, model versioning and deployment
- identify optimal surge pay and order offering decisions through research and experimentation
- turn data insights into action by generating ad-hoc research, automated dashboards and ETL pipelines
- work with Python and SQL to develop and optimize systems
- perform load testing, test-driven development, and real-time monitoring
- collaborate with engineering, operations, and product teams to bring real solutions to market
Other
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with flexibility to work from home or in a Shipt office
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Must be located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis
