Family Dollar is looking to optimize its end-to-end supply chain through advanced analytics, machine learning, and data engineering to improve forecasting, inventory management, logistics, and network efficiency.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL; strong experience with BigQuery, GCP, and SQL Server.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost).
- Knowledge of data architecture, ETL processes, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Strong understanding of forecasting, optimization, simulation, and statistical modeling in a supply chain context.
- Experience building and deploying dashboards in Tableau, Power BI.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of data science solutions that improve supply chain forecasting, inventory management, logistics, and network efficiency.
- Manage and optimize data architecture across platforms including Google BigQuery, GCP, and SQL Server to ensure data integrity, scalability, and accessibility.
- Partner with IT, SC leadership, Finance, analytics and operations team to design robust ETL pipelines and ensure high-quality, well-structured datasets for analytics.
- Build and maintain demand forecasting, labor planning, and transportation optimization models that improve accuracy and reduce costs.
- Conduct network/scenario modeling and simulations to support decisions on distribution center design, sourcing, transportation routing, and capacity planning.
- Automate reporting and develop scalable dashboards for supply chain performance monitoring.
- Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on modeling, coding, and data engineering best practices.
Other
- 3- 5 years of experience in data science or advanced analytics, with direct exposure to supply chain or operations analytics. 5+ years preferred
- Proven ability to manage projects, mentor junior team members, and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Translate complex business problems into analytical frameworks, delivering clear, actionable insights to executives and operational leaders.
- Stay current with advancements in cloud computing, data architecture, and supply chain analytics.
