General Motors Audit Services is seeking a Data Scientist to enhance audit processes, assess risk, and deliver actionable insights through advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for data analysis, modeling, and automation.
- Solid understanding of predictive modeling, machine learning algorithms, and statistical techniques.
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks, internal controls, and audit methodologies (e.g., COSO, SOX, or similar).
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data from diverse sources.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms to identify risk indicators and support audit selection and scoping.
- Develop risk assessment frameworks and anomaly detection tools to support internal audit objectives.
- Extract, clean, transform, and analyze complex datasets using SQL, Python, and R.
- Deliver high-quality visualizations and reports that communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise in data science and audit analytics to support strategic audit planning and ongoing risk assessments.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data science, audit technology, and regulatory requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a data science, analytics, or audit-related role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
