The Office of the Provost’s Institutional Research & Analytics Team and the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences need support for data-informed decision-making to address issues related to academic planning, budget/financial planning, instructional costs, student success, enrollment trends, retention, graduation rates, and faculty workloads.
Requirements
- proficient in query writing (e.g., SQL)
- proficient in visualization software (e.g., Tableau)
- experience designing, conducting, and interpreting statistical analyses using common statistical software tools (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS, Python) and techniques (e.g. regression modeling, machine learning, data mining, clustering)
- Familiarity using workflow automation tools, like Alteryx
- experience in higher education is a plus

Responsibilities
- Performs research, analysis, and modeling on organizational data and data sets utilizing advanced statistical methods to mine and analyze complex and unstructured data sets.
- Offers complex analysis and utilizes advanced algorithms and statistical software.
- extract, scrub, and analyze institutional data from various sources (e.g., student information system, HR system, financial system)
- develop dashboards and visualizations using Tableau
- apply statistical and machine learning techniques to identify patterns and predict outcomes
- document methodologies and workflows, using tools like Python, R, or Alteryx.

- work well under pressure to meet deadlines
- Master’s Degree in Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Sciences, or related field is required.
