Matrix Design Group, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist to provide Data Science and Business Intelligence support, often related to the Department of Defense, by performing data collection and analysis, leveraging programming languages, and creating reports.
Requirements
- Proficiency and demonstrated ability to work independently in statistical analysis, simulation, modeling, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or other methods to analyze information and develop practical solutions to business problems
- Proficiency in programming tools and languages, to include SQL, Python, R, and APIs
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, R Shiny, and others)
- Well-versed in use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, to include Power Platform and SharePoint
- Ability to harness the above in the scraping of PDFs or web for relevant information
- 4 or more years of relevant experience in data science, data management, and/or data analysis, to include internship(s)
Responsibilities
- Support continuous process improvement and business process reengineering projects through focused application of sound data science, data analysis, and mathematical principles, to include process mapping, data collection, analysis, & visualization
- Support project execution to include the development of technical documents and presentations and contributing to other project deliverables
- Support project execution with statistical and other technical skills, to include but not limited to: statistical analysis, simulation, modeling, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or other methods to analyze information and develop practical solutions to business problems; digital dashboard construction, linear regression, parameter estimates, connection of data silos, and process automation
- Support proposal development by providing technical content and coordinating with others to incorporate the input and feedback of both clients and team members
- Meet with clients and their representatives as an individual or part of a team to present results, explain complex technical and/or statistical concepts, resolve issues, answer questions, and maintain positive, constructive relations
- Research areas or issues as assigned and write formal and informal reports of varying lengths focused on summarizing information or persuading readers to support objectives
- Leveraging various programming languages to meet client needs

- Must be willing to work a hybrid schedule
- Familiarity with the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of the Air Force (DAF)
- Strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills (written and oral) and presentation skills, including the ability to synthesize and distill complex topics into concise reports/presentations
- Possess the ability to explain complex technical information in a manner comprehensible to non-technical audiences
- Ability and willingness to travel to project sites and other facility offices
