City of Hope is seeking to analyze large, complex datasets to generate insights that directly influence cancer research and clinical care

Requirements

  • Strong programming skills in Python and related data and ML packages
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL queries
  • Proficiency in standard data science workflows, including model training, evaluation, and deployment
  • Familiarity with LLM frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph
  • Experience with cloud service platforms like Microsoft Azure (preferred)
  • Background in deep neural networks and Natural Language Processing (NLP) (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), including RAG, fine-tuning, embedding models, prompt engineering, and integration workflows (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Query, integrate, and analyze large datasets from multiple systems to extract meaningful insights
  • Develop, build, and evaluate machine learning and deep learning models tailored to research and clinical applications
  • Design and implement pilot studies to validate, optimize, and assess data science workflows and model performance
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation, visualizations, and presentations to communicate findings effectively
  • Manage complex data science projects independently, ensuring timely and quality deliverables
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and hypotheses for further investigation
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in AI, machine learning, and data science to incorporate innovative techniques into projects

  • Master’s degree with 0+ years of experience or Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical results to non-technical audiences
  • Experience in scientific publication authorship and project management within collaborative environments
  • Ability to work in a fully remote capacity within the United States
