Requirements

  • Proficiency in statistical software, machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow), and data visualization tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large, complex datasets.
  • Advanced statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and data modeling techniques.
  • Data mining, natural language processing, and AI-based predictive modeling.
  • Programming languages such as Python, R, or similar tools for data science.
  • Ability to manage and analyze big data effectively.
  • Ability to write clear, detailed reports and present findings effectively to stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms to analyze large datasets and uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, developers, and government departments to understand data requirements and deliver actionable solutions.
  • Clean and preprocess data, ensuring data quality and integrity for modeling purposes.
  • Use statistical analysis techniques to provide insights and support policy development for state government programs.
  • Create data-driven reports and visualizations that communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of data collection methodologies, ensuring data is consistent and aligned with the state's needs.
  • Stay updated with the latest data science trends and technologies, applying new tools to improve analysis and modeling techniques.

Other

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field; or a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field plus one year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong collaboration skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data findings into actionable insights for government decision-makers.
