Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains is seeking a Data Scientist to support abortion care through direct clinical triage, patient education, and follow-up, ensuring timely and empathetic support to those navigating abortion services, and to conduct analysis of business trends, lead the development of the organization’s architecture, strategy, and governance practices.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and relational databases
- Strong knowledge of machine learning frameworks and programming languages
- Experience with statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and financial forecasting
- Familiarity with ETL processes, data warehouses, and data cleaning techniques
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulation, including HIPAA and PHI management
- Experience writing and maintaining clear, structured documentation for data processes, models and workflows
- Bonus: GIS expertise and experience with HL7/FHIR standards
Responsibilities
- Design analytical tools and frameworks to monitor business trends, financial, quality, and other performance indicators
- Write SQL code to support dynamic reporting and visualization efforts, including joining data tables and cleaning/harmonizing data fields
- Execute ad-hoc analysis to address specific business questions from internal and external stakeholder groups
- Build and maintain VP-, C-Suite-, and Board-level reports and KPIs
- Lead the adoption of information architecture that meets and evolves with the organization’s needs
- Implement data strategy, build data capacity, and optimize systems to improve patient health outcomes
- Construct effective and efficient systems for analyzing revenue and expenses
Other
- Master’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. Or a bachelor’s with equivalent skills or experience
- Ability to develop financial models that incorporate historical visit trends, payer mix, reimbursement rates, and operational costs to produce accurate revenue forecasts
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills with data visualization tools
- Vaccination against COVID-19 or wear a mask at all times beginning November 1st
- Flu shot or wear a mask during patient/community contact or while in the health center from November 1 – April 30 each year
